Depending on the vehicle equipment, one or two Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) fiber optic cable connectors may be available.

Located at the end of each fiber optic cable is an identification label with the number of the fiber optic cable or the number of the fiber optic cable is printed onto the end of the fiber optic cable. Make sure that the individual fiber optic cables are correctly reassigned.

The numbering of the fiber optic cables at the fiber optic cable connectors (MOST) varies according to the vehicle equipment. The MOST fiber optic cable takes the form of a ring. When retrofitting one of the ring subscribers, the fiber optic cable connectors (MOST) must always be reassigned such that the numbers are ascending.

First fiber optic cable connector (MOST)

(Numbered pair "4" and "13")

Second fiber optic cable connector (MOST)

(Numbered pair "19" and "37")

Procedure

Determine numbered pair of available fiber optic cable connectors (MOST).
Detach fiber optic cable connectors (MOST) with higher numbered pair "19" and "37".
If at least two fiber optic cable connectors (MOST) are available, then the connector with the higher numbered pair must be detached.

The fiber optic cable connector (MOST) with the lower numbered pair "4" and "13" is not required.
Determine numbered pair of new fiber optic cable to be fitted.
Connect fiber optic cable with number "19" of the detached fiber optic cable connector (MOST) with the new fiber optic cable with number "25" to be fitted.
Connect new fiber optic cable with number "31" to be fitted to fiber optic cable with number "37" of the detached fiber optic cable connector (MOST).
