Control solenoid valve component description - GF27.19-P-5147GG
TRANSMISSION 722.9 in MODEL 164.1 /8, 216, 221, 251.0 /1 up to Model Year 8 Adjustment solenoid brake B3
Location
The B3 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) is mounted on the electric control unit (VGS).
Task
The B3 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) is actuated by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit and influences the position of the B3. regulating valve. The pressure in the B3 multi-disk brake depends on the position of the regulating valve and thus on the geometry of the B3 regulating valve.
The B3 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) has a rising characteristic. This means that the oil pressure applied in the B3 regulating valve increases as the actuation current increases. In limp-home mode of the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) all the control solenoid valves are de-energized. The B3 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) thus supplies no pressure.
Body
In the B3 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) a proportional solenoid converts the electrical signals from the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4). The float needle can also be moved into intermediate positions as a result.
Function
The B3 brake control solenoid valve (VGS) assigns a proportional pressure to the current which is controlled by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit.
