Remove/install rear rubber bushings for differential mount in rear axle carrier - AR35.10-P-0050SX

25.6.10 Value changed: Self-locking nut, flex disk to rear propeller shaft or rear axle differential M12 see *BA41.10-P-1002-01H 
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   see AH54.00-P-0001-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   see AH00.00-N-0001-01A
    NOTES While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surface of all aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.  
1 Shift gear into "N" position    
2 Switch off ignition IMPORTANT Do not remove ignition key, otherwise the transmission will be shifted into position "P".  
3 Secure vehicle on the lifting platform   see AR00.60-P-0100SX
4 Remove exhaust system from flange connection back Vehicles with gasoline engine see AR49.10-P-7100SX
Vehicles with diesel engine AR49.10-P-7100SXI
5 Detach propeller shaft (1) from rear axle differential (2)   see AR41.10-P-0050-03SX
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Attach propeller shaft (1) to rear axle differential (2). see AR41.10-P-0050-04SX
TORQUE SPECIFICATION see *BA41.10-P-1002-01H 
CLEAN Clean     
6 Clean electrical connector and its surrounding area at controller unit (A13)    
7 Unlock and disconnect electrical connector on controller unit (A13)    
8 Remove controller unit (A13) from bracket (3)   see AR42.20-P-0590SX
9 Remove left bolt (3a) from bracket (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION see *BA42.20-P-1004-01K 
10 Support differential (2) with transmission jack and transmission plate and lash down securely    
11 Mark installation position of adjusting bush (4b) NOTES If the adjusting bush (4b) is installed twisted, it will cause a change in articulation angle at the propeller shaft (1) which will in turn cause drivetrain vibrations.  
12 Unscrew nut (4c) and pull bolt (4a) with adjusting bush (4b) out of the extension bracket TORQUE SPECIFICATION see *BA35.10-P-1004-01M 
13.1 Detach left and right exhaust rubber mounts (5) from rear axle carrier (6) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 157, 272, 273, 276, 278 see *BA49.10-P-1009-01Z 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 629 see *BA49.10-P-1006-01AA 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 642 see *BA49.10-P-1010-01V 
13.2 Detach exhaust rubber mount (5) from frame floor assembly TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 651 see *BA49.10-P-1001-01AJ 
14 Remove bolts (7a) on left and right from front crossmember (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION see *BA35.10-P-1003-01M 
15 Lower rear axle differential (2), in doing so pull mechanical release cable (8) out of retaining clamps on tank funnel (9) NOTES Lower rear axle center assembly (2) by max. 250 mm. Do not kink or apply load to mechanical release cable (8) and parking brake cable (11), otherwise they will be damaged.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe installation position of manual release cable (8):
 
Refer to "Dismantle, mount mechanical release cable (8)". see AR42.20-P-0590-01SX
16 Remove spare tire well panel    
17 Press rear axle center assembly's (2) rear rubber mount (10) out of rear axle carrier (6).   see AR35.10-P-0050-02SX

18 Install in the reverse order
