	Adjusting
	Risk of injury to fingers being jammed or pinched when Remove/install or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/tailgate or sliding roof.	When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts.	-
1	Open engine hood (1)		AR88.40-P-1000V
	Adjustment in lateral direction
2	Loosen bolts (5)on both engine hood hinges (6) and align engine hood (1) in lateral direction	Gap dimension for engine hood to fender	*BE60.00-P-1001-01L

	Adjust in longitudinal direction
4	Loosen bolts (7) on both engine hood hinges (6) and align engine hood (1) in longitudinal direction.	Observe transitions between headlamp and engine hood (1) and between front bumper and engine hood (1) (arrows).
5	Tighten bolts (7)		*BA88.40-P-1007-01A
	Adjust height
6	Lay engine hood down on stop buffers (8)
7	Check transitions between engine hood (1) and front fenders as well as gaps between engine hood (1) and headlamps. If required, loosen counternuts (9) and adjust height of engine hood (1).	Gap between engine hood and headlamp	*BE60.00-P-1001-01L

9.1	Loosen nut (12), adjustment nut (11) and adjust height of striker eye (10)	Only if necessary. The locked engine hood (1) should not have any play in the area of the engine hood lock upper elements (2)
10	Check whether engine hood locks (13) and retaining hook (4) function properly.	The engine hood locks (13) should arrest by themselves when the engine hood (1) is allowed to drop from a height of 100 to 130 mm (measured across front end).
11	Repair paint damage on bolts (3, 5, 7) with touch-up stick
