Check fluid level with service fill level indicator added

Step 4.2

	Removing
	Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	-
	Notes on battery		-
1	Open engine hood and move to vertical position		AR88.40-P-1000V
2	Open quick-release couplings (3) and remove air duct (4)
	Checking
3	Visual inspection for external leaks	In the event of leakage: Replace battery, see: ↓
		Remove/install battery	AR54.10-P-0005V
		Dispose of battery	OS54.10-P-0001-01Z
4.1	Check fluid level in battery, replenish with distilled water if necessary	Without  service fill level indicator.
4.2	Check fluid level of battery	With  service fill level indicator. Fluid check via service fill level indicator, acid level is too low if colored white: Replace battery, see: ↓
		Remove/install battery	AR54.10-P-0005V
		Dispose of battery	OS54.10-P-0001-01Z
5	Check battery		AR54.10-P-1129-01A
		Cold cranking amps as per EN Midtronics battery tester with test clamps	*BE54.10-P-1002-01A
6	Reduce increased voltage after charging process	On a battery that is disconnected from the onboard electrical system and with the message "Surface voltage" in the display of the Midtronics battery tester. Midtronics battery tester  Volt/amp tester  -	-
		After reducing increased voltage, test battery again.
7	Charge battery	With the test code "Charge and check" on the Midtronics battery tester. After charging, test battery again.	AR54.10-P-1130V
	Install
8	Install air duct (4)
9	Close engine hood		AR88.40-P-1000V
