	Removal/installation
1.1	Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit	In vehicles with code (614) bi-xenon headlamp unit
2	Open engine hood	See Operating Instructions
3	Unscrew height stops (1)	Installation: Adjust height stops (1), see: ↓
		Adjust engine hood	AR88.40-P-3020V
4	Unscrew bolts (2)
5	Unscrew nuts (3)
6.1	Unclip outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14) from front bumper (8)	When removing the left front lamp unit (E1)
7.1	Completely turn front wheels to right	When removing the left front lamp unit (E1)
7.2	Completely turn front wheels to left	When removing the right front lamp unit (E2)
8	Raise vehicle with lifting platform		AR00.60-P-1000V
9	Unscrew screws (4) and bolt (5) from left or right fender liner front section (6)
10.1	Unscrew screws (7) and disconnect electrical connector from left fog lamp (E5/1)	When removing the left front lamp unit (E1) Pull left inner fender front section (6) toward rear until bolts (7) and the electrical connector on the left fog lamp (E5/1) are accessible
10.2	Unscrew screws (7) and disconnect electrical connector from right fog lamp (E5/2)	When removing the right front lamp unit (E2) Pull right inner fender front section (6) toward rear until bolts (7) and the electrical connector on the right fog lamp (E5/2) are accessible
11.1	Disconnect front bumper PTS connector (X26/27)	When removing right front lamp unit (E2) in vehicles with code (220a) Parktronic system (PTS)
12	Carefully pull out front bumper (8) at left or right side towards the front and lower to the ground	Installation: Insert front bumper (8), otherwise the paintwork of the front fender (9) may be damaged. Installation: Ensure that front bumper (8) is correctly seated at front fender (9).
13	Mask front bumper (8) and front fender (9) in transition area to left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) with suitable masking tape	This prevents damage to the paintwork of the front bumper (8) and the front fender (9) when removing the left front lamp unit (E1) or the right front lamp unit (E2).
14.1	Unscrew bolt (13).	In vehicles with code (600a) headlamp cleaning system
15.1	Release telescopic nozzle (14) from bracket of left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) with a suitable screwdriver and push out towards the rear	In vehicles with code (600a) headlamp cleaning system Installation: Slide telescopic nozzle (14) into bracket of left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) from the rear and engage.
16	Remove bolts (10)
17	Unscrew bolt (11).
18	Disconnect electrical connectors (12) from the rear of the left front lamp unit (E1) or the right front lamp unit (E2)
19	Remove left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) towards the front
20.1	Remove screws (15) from underside of left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) and remove bracket (16)	When replacing the left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) in vehicles with code (614) bi-xenon headlamp unit
21	Install in the reverse order
22	Check settings of left front lamp unit (E1), right front lamp unit (E2), left fog lamp (E5/1) and right fog lamp (E5/2) and correct if necessary
	Check and correct headlamp adjustment		AP82.10-P-8260V
