If the Controller Area Network Bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B), driverside SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) or the processor in the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) fail, the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) activates the following lamps with "circuit 15 ON":
- Left stop lamp, taillamp and parking lamp (E3e9) and right stop lamp, taillamp and parking lamp (E4e9)
- Left license plate lamp (E19/1) and right license plate lamp (E19/2)
If a processor of the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) fails, the following lamps are activated, with "circuit 15 ON":
- Left standing and parking lamp (E1e3) and right standing and parking lamp (E2e3)
- Left low beam (E1e2) and right low beam (E2e2)
The emergency light actuation function is intended to prevent a total failure of the exterior lights due to the failure of the CAN-B or the processor of a control unit.
