S1 Exterior lamp switch

Location  The rotary light switch is located at the left next to the multifunction steering wheel in the instrument panel.

Task  Various functions of the exterior lights can be switched on by turning the rotary light switch. The status of the rotary light switch is read in directly by the driver SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

The following applied positions can be selected:  left parking lights (1) - right parking lights (2) - off (3) - auto on/off headlamps (4) - standing lights (5) - low beams (6).

Turning the rotary light switch to the standing lights or low beams position and then pulling it out to the first detent activates the front fog light actuation. Pulling to the second detent position additionally actuates the rear fog light actuation.

The active function is fed back by the following indicator lamps:  Front fog lamp indicator lamp (S1e1) - Rear fog light indicator lamp (S1e2).

Design  The rotary light switch is designed as a rotary/pull switch.

On vehicles without code (614) Bi-xenon headlamp unit or without code (618) Bi-xenon headlamps the headlamp range adjustment selector wheel is integrated into the rotary light switch.
