Interior illumination (IBL) in general  The IBL system includes all lights in the vehicle interior. Individual light functions are activated or deactivated depending on the user's requirements, the on-board electrical system and the ambient brightness.

The master control unit for the IBL is the overhead control panel control unit (N70).

The system is made up of the following subfunctions which are described in separate documents:  Function sequence for manual interior lights control; Function sequence for automatic interior lights control; Function sequence for symbol and ambiance illumination.
