The navigation processor of the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) with code (525) Audio 50 APS MB radio is integrated into the control unit. On the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) with code (527a) COMAND APS (with navigation) the external navigation module is called navigation processor (N41/1).

Map-supported location finding is only available in the digitized area of the DVD-ROM map. By comparing the calculated position of the vehicle with the DVD-ROM map, the deviation can be detected and automatically corrected.

Map-supported map matching, function 

With code (527a) COMAND APS (with navigation) the position of the vehicle is continuously determined by the navigation processor (N41/1) on the DVD-ROM map. In the event of deviations from the calculated routes in the course of the trip, the position coordinates of the basic position finding will be corrected if necessary.
