Navigation includes creating and outputting driving recommendations to guide the driver to the desired destination. The prerequisites of destination guidance include:
- Continuous position finding in operation (takes place automatically).
- Destination was entered
- Route has been calculated.
The navigation processor (N41/1) compares the route calculation data with the continuous position finding data and derives from this the measures for continued navigation.
Depending on the position of the vehicle, a distinction can be made between the following two navigating modes:
- Destination within digitized DVD map area
- Restricted navigation outside the digitalized DVD map area
