Destination guidance in non-digitized map area, function with code 525 and 527 - GF82.61-P-4001SK
MODEL 171.4 with CODE (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio
MODEL 171.4 with CODE (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)
The navigation processor of the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) with code (525) Audio 50 APS MB radio is integrated into the control unit. On the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) with code (527a) COMAND APS (with navigation) the external navigation module is called navigation processor (N41/1).
When traveling outside the digitized map area (e.g. company grounds, multi-level car parks, field paths, etc.), but still within the DVD-ROM map boundaries, the navigation processor (N41/1) switches over to "Navigation in non-digitized map area". The message "OFF ROAD" appears on the display. If the vehicle is outside the DVD-ROM map boundary (outside the country), the message "OFF MAP" appears.
In both cases only a basic location finding with correction is performed by the global positioning system (GPS) Limited destination guidance takes place while only specifying:
- Distance from the destination as the crow flies
- Direction to the destination (as an arrow)
After reentering the digitized map area, the system automatically continues with "Destination guidance in digitized map area". The GPS position is used to help determine the roads on which the vehicle could be located. During this process a slight delay in the route guidance may result.
When the message "OFFMAP" appears, complete destination guidance can be continued by inserting the proper DVD-ROM for the foreign country.
The time synchronization between the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) (with code (527a) COMAND APS (with navigation)) and the instrument cluster (A1) must be performed on journeys in different "time zones" (time shifts, time changes)
