Function requirements: 

• Standing lamps or low beam On

Function 

Pull rotary light switch (S1) out to "standing lamp" or "low beam" position to second detent.

The driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10) records the "rear fog lamp On" signal and forwards this signal over CAN-B (CAN-B) to the rear SAM control unit (N10/8). The rear SAM control unit (N10/8) then actuates the left rear fog lamp (E3e5) in the left taillamp or the right rear fog lamp (E4e5) in the right taillamp.

For left-hand drive vehicles only the left rear fog lamp (E3e5), for right-hand drive vehicles only the right rear fog lamp (E4e5) is actuated.

Feedback 

The rear fog lamp indicator lamp (S1e2) in the rotary light switch (S1) visually indicates that the left rear fog lamp (E3e5) or right rear fog lamp (E4e5) is switched-on.
