Switching glove compartment lamp on 

The glove compartment lamp is switched on by the switch integrated in the lamp, when the glove compartment is opened.

Switching glove compartment lamp off 

• when the glove compartment is closed, or
• automatically 15 minutes after no transmission over databus to minimize drain on vehicle battery.

Switching on again after automatic switch-off 

If the lamp was switched off automatically after 15 minutes of no transmission over databus, it is not switched on again until the databus has been activated, for example by a door being opened.

It cannot be switched on again in this case by closing and reopening the glove compartment.

Voltage supply/actuation 

The glove compartment lamp is supplied with voltage through a separate output of the passenger-side SAM control module (N10/11). Voltage continues to be supplied to this output for up to 15 minutes after the last activity over the interior CAN.
