SDAR control unit, component description - GF82.60-P-3200R
MODEL 230.4 with CODE (536) SIRIUS satellite radio
Location
The SDAR control unit is located on the wheelhouse on the left of the trunk.
Task
The signals received by the SDAR antenna (A2/82) are decoded by the SDAR control unit and sent to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).
Since YoM 07/1 the SDAR control unit (N87/5) (3rd generation) has been used, and now it is also available for vehicles with code (460) Additional parts, Canadian vehicles. The SDAR control unit (N87/5) (3rd generation) differs from the previous generations on account of the following features:
- Shorter response times
- Improved reception properties
- Temperature and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) properties have been optimized
Discrete inputs
- Circuit 30
- Circuit 31
- "Wake-Up" signal
- SDAR antenna signals
Up to 31.5.05 signals were transferred from the SDAR antenna to the SDAR control unit over 2 antenna lines. As of 1.6.05 this is modified to one antenna line.
Discrete outputs
- Voltage supply for SDAR antenna
Digital data bus (D2B) (up to 31.5.04)
- Exchange of control and data signals
Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) (as of 1.6.04)
- Exchange of control and data signals
