The windshield (1) is glued in with the adhesive seam on the body flange and on the reinforcement on the left and right A-pillar, as well as on the roof guard plate. Removal is not possible without damaging the parts. To cut out the windshield (1) it is necessary to cut through the adhesive seam running around the outside. Then, remove the upper layer of glass, which obstruct access to the second adhesive seam (support seam) in the connecting points on the left and right A-pillars and front edge of the roof (1). The second adhesive seam is then accessible.

- Cut through adhesive seam on windshield (1) in connecting points on left and right A-pillar and front edge of roof with window removal unit.

To prevent damage to the vehicle paintwork in the area below the A-pillars, interrupt the cutting operation, unclamp the cutting blade mounted on the window removal unit, turn the window removal unit 180 ° and clamp the cutting blade back in. Then continue the cutting operation.
- Clean windshield (1) in connecting points at left and right A-pillar and front edge of roof.
- Mark edge zone of upper glass layer on windshield (1) with a wax pencil, corresponding to dimensions (A, B).
Dimensions (A) approx. 15 mm. Dimension (B) approx. 27 mm.
- Moisten suitable glass cutter with kerosene and cut upper layer of glass on windshield (1) along markings.
- Mask off surface zone of upper glass layer on windshield (1) with adhesive tape (2) and carefully break by tapping with hammer.
- Remove broken surface zone of upper glass layer by pulling off adhesive tape (2). Break out any glass splinters remaining and suction off.

- Cut through second adhesive bead (support bead) on side of A-pillars and at top, at front edge of roof.

- Position cup suction tool in upper third of windshield (1) and lift windshield (1) away from body flange.
