Install rear inner wheelhouse - AR63.10-P-0670-04SX

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 221 on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Install rear inner wheelhouse (1), fit with straightening tool (2) and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers.
  2. Drill dia. 6.5 mm rivet holes in inner rear wheelhouse (1) (areas A, B, C, D and E).
  3. Drill dia. 6.5 mm rivet holes in inner rear wheelhouse (1) (area D1 ).
  4. Lower straightening tool (2).

  5. Remove inner rear wheelhouse (1).
  6. Deburr rivet holes on both sides
  7. Coat insides of rivet connections not glued with zinc dust paint.
  8. Install support (3) and fasten.

    IMPORTANT Support (3) should be of a stable material, e.g. wood. The length of the material corresponds to the undamaged side of the vehicle (approx. 500 mm).

  9. Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

    IMPORTANT Refer to manufacturer specifications for adhesive curing and application times.

  10. Remove support (3).
  11. Install inner rear wheelhouse (1), fit with straightening tool (2) and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS manual temporary fasteners and COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers.

  12. Inner rear wheelhouse (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas F, G1 , G2 , H, I, J, K and L).
  13. Remove straightening tool (2) and MZ element (4).
  14. Inner rear wheelhouse (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas F, G1 , G2 , M, N and O).

    IMPORTANT Supplement resistance spot welds, covered by MZ element (4), and straightening tool (2) (areas F and G2 ).

  15. Inner rear wheelhouse (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas P, Q and R).

  16. Rivet inner rear wheelhouse (1) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4x14 dia. (areas A, B, C, D and E).

    IMPORTANT Blind rivet tool, see GOTIS.

  17. Rivet inner rear wheelhouse (1) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4x14 dia. (area D1 ).

    IMPORTANT Blind rivet tool, see GOTIS.

  18. Clean welds using COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS round wire brush.
  19. Remove grinding and drill shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
