Location

The AIRMATIC with ADS control unit is located on the control unit retaining plate in the front passenger footwell.

Task

The tasks of the AIRMATIC with ADS control unit are as follows:

Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
Evaluation of input factors
Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals

The input factors are read in with the following connections:

Chassis CAN (CAN E)

The following components are read in via a direct line:

Rear axle level sensor (B22/3)
Left front level sensor (B22/8)
Right front level sensor (B22/9)
Left front body acceleration sensor (B24/3)

Right front body acceleration sensor (B24/4)

Right rear body acceleration sensor (B24/6)

AIRmatic pressure sensor (Y36/6b1)

Chassis CAN

The signals are read in by the AIRMATIC with ADS control unit via the chassis CAN.

The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors

The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the corresponding components are actuated.

Air suspension compressor relay (N10/1kB) for actuating the AIRMATIC compressor unit (A9/1) with integrated AIRmatic pressure reduction valve (A9/1y1)
Level control valve unit (Y36/6) with following components:
- Left front level control valve (Y36/6y1)
- Right front level control valve (Y36/6y2)
  - Left rear level control valve (Y36/6y3)
- Right rear level valve (Y36/6y4)
- AIRMATIC central reservoir charge valve (Y36/6y5)
- Left front axle damping valve unit (Y51) with following components:
  - Solenoid valve 1, left front (Y51y1)
  - Solenoid valve 2, left front (Y51y2)
- Right front axle damping valve unit (Y52) with following components:
  - Solenoid valve 1, front right (Y52y1)
  - Solenoid valve 2, front right (Y52y2)
- Left rear axle damping valve unit (Y53) with following components:
  - Solenoid valve 1, rear left (Y53y1)
  - Solenoid valve 2, rear left (Y53y2)
- Right rear axle damping valve unit (Y54) with following components:
