1	Remove left and right paneling from A-pillar
2	Remove steering wheel		AR46.10-P-0100SX
3	Remove steering column switch module		AR54.25-P-2800-01SX
4	Remove trim strip on instrument panel		AR68.10-P-1180SX
5	Remove instrument cluster		AR54.30-P-6015SX
6	Remove COMAND display		AR82.85-P-7429SX
7	Unclip cover (3) and unscrew bolts (4).		Fig 5
7	Unclip cover (3) and unscrew bolts (4).	Rechargeable drill/screwdriver	*WH58.30-Z-1007-20A
8	Open cover frame (5), fold covers (6) toward inside, unscrew bolts (7) and remove cover frame (5).	Rechargeable drill/screwdriver	*WH58.30-Z-1007-20A
9	Remove bolts (8)	Rechargeable drill/screwdriver	*WH58.30-Z-1007-20A
10	Unclip left and right cover (8)		Fig 5
11	Loosen bolts (10) on both sides of instrument panel (1) and remove right instrument panel fuse box (F1/6) as well as left instrument panel fuse box (F1/7)	Rechargeable drill/screwdriver	*WH58.30-Z-1007-20A
12	Remove left and right side air nozzle		AR83.10-P-4740SX
13	Remove cover below instrument panel on left		AR68.10-P-1500SX
14	Remove cover below instrument panel on right		AR68.10-P-1520SX
15	Unscrew bolt (11) and unclip right instrument panel bottom section (12).		Fig 4
16	Disconnect glove compartment lamp connector (X29/1)
17	Disconnect electrical connector (19) from center cockpit speaker (Centerfill) (H4/27)
18	Disconnect electrical connectors (18) from EIS control unit (N73)
19	Remove inside air temperature sensor (B10/4) and leave connected to electrical line.
20	Disconnect electrical connector (16) from electric parking brake switch (S76/15) and electrical connector (17) from rotary light switch (S1)
21	Open glove compartment, unclip covering above nut (22) and unscrew nut (22)		*BA91.60-P-1010-01L
22	Close glove compartment and unscrew bolts (13, 14, 15, 20)	Rechargeable drill/screwdriver	*WH58.30-Z-1007-20A
23	Cover center console with protective cover, remove instrument panel (1) and set down toward rear.	Aid of helper required When aligning instrument panel (1), ensure that catch hook (21) is seated precisely in front of lug (25) on crossmember (arrow).
24	Release retaining lugs and disconnect electrical connectors (23, 24) from passenger airbag	Aid of helper required for securing instrument panel (1).
25	Disconnect electrical connectors and fiber optic cable connector from rear of COMAND control unit (A40/3)	Helper required for securing instrument panel (1).
	Notes on avoiding damage to fiber optical cables during repair work	Helper required for securing instrument panel (1).	AH82.60-P-0001-05AK
26	Carefully remove instrument panel (1) from vehicle	Aid of helper required
27	Install in the reverse order
