| 1 | Move front seats toward front to end position | ||
| 2 | Remove rear paneling from center console | AR68.20-P-5169SX | |
| 3 | Expose electric wiring harness at rear in center console (1) and disconnect electrical connector (2) | For vehicles without code (582) AC in rear. | |
| 4 | Remove housing (3) for 12 V socket or rear ashtray | AR68.20-P-2420SX | |
| 5 | Unclip cap (5) on both sides and unscrew bolts below | ||
| 6 | Adjust front seats toward rear to end position | ||
| 7 | Switch off ignition and withdraw transmitter key or Keyless Go start/stop button from the EIS [EZS] control unit | ||
| 8 | Open stowage compartment, remove insert and unscrew bolts (6). | ||
| 9.1 | Open stowage compartment and unclip maintenance flap (7) | For vehicles without code (582) AC in rear. |

| 9.2 | Open armrest cover (10), unlock stowage compartment (11) through holes (arrows) on front of stowage compartment (11) and install. | For vehicles with code (582) Rear air conditioner. | |
| 10 | Expose electric wiring harness in center console (1) and disconnect electrical connectors (8) | ||
| 11 | Expose telephone electric wiring harness in center console (1) and disconnect electrical connector (9) as well as cell phone separation point (X39/37) and cell phone connector (X39/39) | On vehicles with code (386) Preinstallation for cell phone telephone, UPCI system or code (388) Cell phone telephone, UPCI system | |
| 12 | Remove center console (1) from vehicle | ||
| 13 | Install in the reverse order |
