Removing, installing windowbag - AR91.60-P-0693SXS

MODEL 221.1 with code (Z07) top protection

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

IMPORTANT Assessment of airbag and belt tensioner units in accident vehicles   AH91.00-P-0006-01B

1 Remove headliner   AR68.30-P-4300SXS
2 Connect ground line to starter battery and to on-board electrical system battery   AR54.10-P-0003SX
3 Disconnect connector from left rear windowbag squib (R12/22) or right rear windowbag squib (R12/23) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT connector must be heard to engage when being plugged in.  
4.1 Detach ground (heated rear window) to C-pillar When removing the left windowbag unit (1).  
5.1 Detach electric wiring harness from antenna blocking circuit When removing the right windowbag unit (1).  
6 Remove bracket (5) for the paneling on the C-pillar    
7 Unscrew nuts (6) of windowbag unit (1) on C-pillar TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.60-P-1002-01L 
8 Unscrew nuts (3) of windowbag unit (1) on A-pillar TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.60-P-1003-01L 
9 Unscrew nuts (2) of windowbag unit (1) on the roof frame TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.60-P-1011-01L 
10 Remove windowbag unit (1) NOTES Remove windowbag unit (1) carefully to ensure that the interior and the plastic coating on the inside of the glazing are not damaged.
IMPORTANT If a new windowbag unit (1) is being installed, the defective windowbag unit (1) must be properly disposed of. Refer to: ↓
 
REFER TO FORMS   Notes on disposing of airbag and emergency tensioning retractor units OS91.00-P-0001-01A
11 Install in the reverse order    
12.1 Check supplemental restraint system (SRS) with STAR DIAGNOSIS After installing new windowbag unit (1).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
