Removing and installing AIRmatic central reservoir - AR32.22-P-2017RT

MODELS 251 with CODE (489) Airmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS)

	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Special information on AIRmatic		AH32.22-P-1000-02RT
	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof.	When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Open engine hood		AR88.40-P-1000RT
2	Raise vehicle until the wheels are clear of the ground		AR00.60-P-1000RT
3	Empty AIRmatic system using STAR DIAGNOSIS	Do not discharge the air suspension elements.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
4	Unscrew bolt (2).
5	Remove front section of fender liner in front fender	Front section of fender liner in left front fender.	AR88.10-P-1310RT
6	Carefully detach pressure line connection (3) from AIRmatic central reservoir (1)	Residual pressure 2 to 3 bar. Seal off the pressure line with a blind plug for the duration of the repair work. If pressure line connections or pressure lines are damaged:↓

7	Unscrew nut (4) and remove AIRmatic central reservoir (1)		*BA32.22-P-1008-03C
8	Install in the reverse order
9	Fill AIRmatic system using STAR DIAGNOSIS	The wheels must not make any contact with the ground when filling as when filling in the jounce condition the air spring bellows in the spring element will be destroyed.
		STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
10	Check AIRmatic for leaks.		AR32.22-P-8100RT
