	Remove/install
1	Open liftgate
2.1	Remove luggage compartment cover	On vehicles with luggage compartment cover, code 723.
3	Open load compartment floor at handle (20), fold upwards (arrow) and secure	See owner's manual.
	Risk of explosion  caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury  caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn injuries  caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices	No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards. Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground. Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
4	Disconnect battery ground line		AR54.10-P-0003RT

5.1	Open retaining strap (23), remove jack (22), unscrew mounting bolt (25), lift out the spare tire and the plastic insert (24) under it from the vehicle	On vehicles with code 669 spare tire on steel rim When lifting out, cover the trunk sill with a rag for example otherwise the paint of the trunk sill and/or the steel rim may become damaged.
5.2	Unscrew mounting bolt (25), lift molded section for vehicle tool kit (26) out of the vehicle	On vehicles with code 669 spare tire on steel rim Lift the vehicle tool kit molded part (26) first, then lift out upwards at an angle otherwise the lugs on the bottom side may break off.
6	Remove right spare tire well trim (1)	Slip out wiring harness.
7	Remove nut on circuit 30 (2), remove circuit		*BA54.15-P-1001-01E
8	Unlock connector (3) and detach from the load compartment fuse and relay box (F4)	The number of connectors (3) may vary if equipped and vehicle variant.
9	Unlock fuse carrier (5) and detach from the load compartment fuse and relay box (F4)	The number of fuse carriers (5) may vary if equipped and vehicle variant.
10	Press in lugs (6) at the side of the load compartment fuse and relay box (F4) (arrows A), remove from the bracket (4) and tilt forward so that the connectors on the back are accessible (arrows B)
11	Unlock connectors on the back (arrows B) of the load compartment fuse and relay box (F4) and detach from the slots (7)	The number of connectors may vary if equipped and vehicle variant.
12	Remove load compartment fuse and relay box (F4)
13	Install in the reverse order
14	Perform basic programming		AR00.19-P-0200RT
