Location 

The brake light switch is installed at the brake pedal.

Task 

Record the actuation of the brake pedal to activate the brake lights and deactivate the cruise control, Distronic, etc.

Function 

Contact closure is recorded (e.g. on model 219 by the Driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module) and transferred on the CAN data bus.
