	Remove/install
	Notes on avoiding damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1	Temporarily store basic data of voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3) in STAR DIAGNOSIS	When replacing the voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3). Installation:  Copy temporarily stored basic data to the new voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
2	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from EIS control unit	On vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until the ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
3	Set 60% rear seat cushion of rear seat in vertical position
4	Remove cover (1)
5	Remove bolt (2)		*BA91.40-P-1003-01H
6	Unscrew bolt (3) and remove cross strut (4) or place to one side	On vehicles with electrically heated left and right rear seats, code 872: Do not damage wiring harness.

7	Separate electrical connector (5)
8	Unscrew bolts (6) and remove voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3)
9	Install in the reverse order
