- Grind connection surfaces down to bare metal in shaded area A on one side.
- Grind connection surfaces down to bare metal in shaded areas C and D on both sides
- Remove grinding chips using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Coat insides of spot welding flange and area A with zinc dust paint.
Area A becomes a rivet connection during further course of work.
