Removing/installing injectors (ME-SFI) - AR07.03-P-6520GZ (ML500)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing/installing    
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury  to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.		 AS47.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/ rear-end door or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Open engine hood   AR88.40-P-1000GZ
2 Remove fuel distributor rail (1) with fuel injection valves   AR07.03-P-1451GZ 
3 Remove clamp (7) from fuel injection valves (Y62) () and fuel distributor rail (1)    
4 Remove fuel injection valves (Y62) from fuel distributor rail (1) NOTES Inspect sealing ring (13) for damage and replace if required, otherwise leaks may occur.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Pay attention to correct seating of fuel injection valves (Y62) in fuel distributor rail (1).
IMPORTANTInstallation:  The clamp (7) must latch in the square catch (arrow) on the fuel injection valves(Y62).
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace sealing rings (13) and wet slightly with liquid lubricant before installation.

5 Install in reverse order    
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.		 AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
6 Carry out engine test run and check fuel system for leaks NOTES In the event of fluid loss, determine and eliminate cause, otherwise malfunctions, engine damage and serious environmental pollution may occur.
