Notes on self-locking nuts and screw/bolts - AH00.00-N-0001-01A
Important repair information
Screws/bolts with locking splines, microencapsulated screws/bolts and self-locking nuts are to be replaced after being used once.
Furthermore, the bolts must always be replaced on bolted connections with self-locking nuts.
If this instruction is not followed, external influences can cause unwanted loosening of a bolted connection.
When loosening microencapsulated screws/bolts, there is a greater risk of injury due to the sudden breakaway torque.
Before new microencapsulated screws/bolts are screwed in, the mating thread must be recut in order to remove all remains of the old thread locking material.
No greases, oils, waxes, or other lubricants may come into contact with or be applied to bolted connections and their contact surfaces.
Otherwise, the preload forces will no longer meet specifications.
Threaded connections located in the splash zone are to be preserved with spray wax after tightening.
