Remove/install fuel level sensor - AR47.10-P-7000GZ

MODIFICATION NOTES

4.8.06 Disconnect ground line - discontinued    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and risk of injury  to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.
AS47.00-Z-0001-01A 
1 Remove fuel pump IMPORTANTInstallation:  The parts kit with ring nut (11), sealing ring and threaded ring (14) must be replaced. AR47.20-P-7000GZ 
2 Remove car interface (portable CTEL) IMPORTANT Only for vehicles with telephone "Handy", UPCI system, code 388.  
3 Unscrew nuts (1) on bracket (2)    
4 Unscrew nuts (3), swing emergency call system control unit (N123/4) out of working area and secure IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with TELE AID emergency call system, code 359.  
5 Pull GPS antenna splitter (A2/5) upwards from bracket (2), swing out of working area and secure IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with TELE AID emergency call system, code 359.
IMPORTANT Do not damage clip (4).
 
6 Remove screws (5) IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with TELE AID emergency call system, code 359.  
7 Remove bracket (2)    
8 Disconnect electrical connector (6, 7) IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with USA version, code 494.  
9 Remove SDAR control unit (N87/5) IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with USA version, code 494.  
10 Disconnect cap on the left (8) at marked separation point (9) and remove IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace cap on the left (8) and insert with new sealing mass.
IMPORTANT The left cap (8) is glued in with body sealer. Heat with hot air blower to make it easier to remove.
 
    Sealant *BR00.45-Z-1003-01A 
11 Disconnect feed line (10) IMPORTANT Cover separation point with rag, in order to prevent ingress of fuel into interior.  
12 Use pronged wrench to unscrew on ring nut (11) IMPORTANTInstallation:  The parts kit with ring nut (11), sealing ring and threaded ring (14) must be replaced.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA47.10-P-1004-01J 
    SPECIAL TOOL Claw-type wrench Fig 4
13 Remove fuel gauge sensor (12)    
14 Install in the reverse order    
15 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS, read out and erase fault memory STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnostic system *WH58.30-Z-1048-13A 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
INSPECT Checking     
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

16 Carry out engine test run and check fuel system for leaks
