Rivet timing chain - AR05.10-P-7601-02AV

  1. SPECIAL TOOL Place assembly insert (1) with the digit F1 into the SPECIAL TOOL riveting tool (2)and secure with bolt (3).

  2. Place movable SPECIAL TOOL assembly insert (4) with the digit D5 into the SPECIAL TOOL riveting tool (2).

  3. Insert new outer plate (5) into the movable SPECIAL TOOL assembly insert (4). IMPORTANT The outer plate (5) is held by a magnet.

  4. Mark camshaft sprocket relative to timing chain by a colored dot (arrow).
  5. Remove camshaft sprocket (6).

  6. Place a cloth below timing chain.
  7. SPECIAL TOOL Position riveting tool (2) so that timing chain is resting on the spacer bars (arrow).
  8. Tighten spindle (7) until a firm resistance is felt.

    IMPORTANT While turning the spindle (7) ensure that the pins of the riveted link are inserted into the holes of the outer plate.

  9. SPECIAL TOOL Remove rivet press tool (2).

  10. Turn over moving SPECIAL TOOL assembly insert (4) with the digit D5 to the riveting section (arrow).

  11. Position riveting tool (2) exactly above the middle of the pins (arrow).
  12. Tighten spindle (7)fully at SPECIAL TOOL riveting tool (2).

    IMPORTANT Tightening torque of spindle: Reference value approx. 30 to 35 Nm.

  13. Rivet pins of the riveted link individually.

  14. Check riveting (arrows), re-rivet if necessary.
  15. Fit on camshaft sprocket (6).

    IMPORTANT Pay attention to tightening torque of camshaft sprocket.

    IMPORTANT The colored markings (8) on the timing chain and at the camshaft sprocket must be aligned.
