Rivet timing chain - AR05.10-P-7601-02AMG

When carrying out work on the timing case recess, safeguard this with a clean cloth to prevent items dropping down. Parts which have fallen into the timing case recess, must be removed.
Press the riveted link into the press-fit center plate
Place assembly insert (6) with digit F1 into
riveting tool (5) and attach.
- Insert moving
assembly insert (7) with digit D5 into
riveting tool (5).
- Insert new outer plate (8) into movable assembly insert (7).
The outer plate (8) is held by a magnet.
Position riveting tool (5) so that spacer webs (arrow) are making contact.
- Tighten spindle at
riveting tool (5) until a firm resistance is felt.
When turning the spindle, ensure that pins for riveted link move into holes for outer plate.
Take off riveting tool (5).
Turn over moving assembly insert (7) with digit D5 to riveting section (arrow).
Position riveting tool (5) exactly above middle of pins (arrow).
- Tighten spindle at
riveting tool (5) fully.
Tightening torque of spindle: reference value of around 30-35 Nm.
- Rivet pins for the riveted link individually.
- Inspect riveting of chain pins, re-rivet if necessary.
