1	Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit	On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go: Press keyless go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
2.1	Remove air filter housing	Engine 272 (except 272.973), 273 in model 164 251	AR09.10-P-1150GZA
2.2	Remove air filter box (4)	Engine 272.973 in model 164.195
3	Remove right partition wall section (5)	Engine 272.973 in model 164.195
4	Remove air filter housing (6) and air duct (7)	Engine 272.973 in model 164.195 Treat air duct (7) carefully, danger of breaking hot film mass air flow sensor.
5	Detach hose for crankcase ventilation system (1) on centrifuge cover (2)
6	Unscrew bolt (2a)		*BA01.20-P-1001-01L
7	Remove the centrifuge cover (2)	Catch engine oil that flows out with an absorbent rag. Installation: Check seal (2b) and radial shaft sealing ring (2c) for wear and damage and replace centrifuge cover (2) if necessary. The fitted pins (2d) determine the installation position of the centrifuge cover (2).
8	Unscrew bolt (3a) and remove the centrifuge (3)	Observe loosening direction of bolt (3a) (left-hand thread).

9	Install in the reverse order

	Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running.
