	Checking
	Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
1	Run engine until warm
2	Check engine oil temperature with remote thermometer (01)	Lead temperature sensor of remote thermometer (01) through oil dipstick guide tube into engine oil. The engine oil temperature must be at least 100 °C.
2	Check engine oil temperature with remote thermometer (01)		Fig 3
3	Check engine oil level about 5 minutes after switching off the warm engine, if necessary adjust to correct level	The vehicle must be parked on a level surface, otherwise false measurements can occur.
	Remove/install
4	Remove front engine cover (1)	Pull upwards out of the mounts.
5	Remove screw plug (2) from timing case cover	Installation : Replace sealing ring (3).

6	Screw double connectors (02) with sealing ring (3) into the hole in the timing case cover		Fig 4
7	Connect hose connection (4) of testing unit (03) to double union (02)		Fig 2
	Measure
8	Start the engine and measure oil pressure	Position testing unit (03) so that it is not caught in the poly-V-belt when the engine is started, otherwise the testing unit (03) and the poly-V-belt may be damaged. Measure the oil pressure at the engine operating pressure.
8	Start the engine and measure oil pressure	When throttle is opened, the oil pressure must rise without any delay.	*BE18.00-P-1001-01B
9	Install in the reverse order
10	Carry out an engine test run and check engine for leaks
