Location 

The boost pressure sensor is located at the front right of the engine downstream of the throttle valve actuator (M16/6).

Task 

The boost pressure sensor detects the charge air pressure (absolute pressure) downstream of the throttle valve actuator and sends this information to the CDI control unit (N3/9).

Function 

The charge air pressure distorts a membrane with piezoelements. The voltage that is thereby generated is used by the CDI control unit to determine the charge air pressure.
