  1. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas B, O, P, Q, TA, UB and X on one side.
  2. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in remaining areas on both sides.
  3. Remove grinding and cutting chips with wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  4. Using zinc dust paint, coat insides of spot welding flanges (except areas B, NC, O, P, Q, TA, TB and UB).

  5. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched area A on one side.
  6. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in remaining areas on both sides.
  7. Remove grinding and cutting chips with wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  8. Using zinc dust paint, coat insides of spot welding flanges (except areas A and KB).
