Location 

The fully integrated transmission control unit (VGS) is integrated in the electric controller unit (VGS), which is located at the bottom in the transmission.

Task 

General 

The fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit determines the instantaneous operating condition of the vehicle and actuates all gear change sequences taking ease of shifting and driving situation into consideration.

The fully integrated transmission control unit (VGS) has the following tasks:

Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Direct line 

The following sensors and signals are read in via a direct line:

Drive train CAN 

The following signals and information are read-in over the drive train CAN:

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:

Direct line 

The following components are actuated via a direct line:

Drive train CAN 

The following components are actuated over the drive train CAN:
