Location
The electronic selector lever module control unit is located under the center console between the two front seats.
Task
General
The electronic selector lever module control unit records the positions of the selector lever using integrated sensors.
The electronic selector lever module control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals and actuation of components
Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Drive train CAN (CAN C)
Direct line
The following signals are read in via a direct line:
- Circuit 87
- Circuit 58d
- Circuit 31
- Circuit 15 (with code (J44) Ultrasonic Backup Assist)
- Stop light switch (S9/1)
- Kickdown switch (S16/6)
Drive train CAN
The following signals are read in over the drive train CAN:
- Vehicle speed (from instrument cluster (A1))
- Status of circuit 15 (from EZS control unit (N73) (without code (J44) Ultrasonic Backup Assist)
Evaluation of input factors
The read-in input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the signals are issued and the affected component actuated.
Issue of signals and actuation of components
The issue of signals and the actuation of the components is done through the following connections:
- Direct line
- Drive train CAN
Direct line
The following signals are output via a direct line:
- Backup lamp signal (with code (J44) Ultrasonic Backup Assist)
- Brake light switch supply voltage
- Lock selector lever position "R" (at a vehicle speed of v ≥5 km/h)
- Lock the selector lever position "P" (to match circuit 15 status and actuation of brake pedal)
Drive train CAN
The following components are actuated over the drive train CAN:
- Instrument cluster
- Fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4)
- EIS [EZS] control unit
