Location 

The upper control panel control unit is located at the top of the center console.

Design 

The upper control panel control unit contains the following operating and display components:

• Automatic child seat recognition airbag OFF indicator lamp (N72/1e1)
• ESP OFF switch (N72/1s1)
• Hazard warning system switch (N72/1s5)
• Left front HS [SIH] switch (N72/1s10)

  (with code (H10) Driver and front passenger heated seats)

• Right front HS [SIH] switch (N72/1s11)

  (with code (H10) Driver and front passenger heated seats)

• Rear door wiper switch (N72/1s12)
• Left front seat ventilation switch (N72/1s13) (as of 1.9.08 with code (S50) Seat ventilation for driver and front passenger seat)
• Right front seat ventilation switch (N72/1s14) (as of 1.9.08 with code (S50) Seat ventilation for driver and front passenger seat)
• 'Unlock CL [ZV]' interior switch (N72/1s16)

Task 

The upper control panel control unit passes on the requests of the respective switches via the interior CAN to the front signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1) or to the rear signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/2).
