Set center position of hydraulic limiter - AR46.25-P-3090-03F

TEST AND ADJUSTMENT VALUES OF STEERING GEAR

Number Designation Steering 765.502 in models 460, 461 Steering 765.503 in models 461, 463 with 15 and 16 rim Steering 765.503 in model 463 with 18 rim
BE46.20-P-1006-01B Distance between stop bolt and axle stop when inserting the hydraulic end limiter and left wheel steer angle mm 2 to 12 2 to 5 5 to 10
BE46.20-P-1007-01B Distance between stop bolt and axle stop when inserting the hydraulic end limiter and right wheel steer angle mm 2 to 12 2 to 5 2 to 5

IMPORTANT The distance (A) is the distance between stop screw (5) and axle stop (6) when inserting the hydraulic limiter.

If during the measurement different distances (A) were determined for left and right wheel locks, then the steering's center position must be corrected by shortening or lengthening the drag link.

In doing so distance (A) during left wheel lock must always be at least the same, better is when it is larger however than for the right wheel lock. This is contingent however on the mechanical axle stop having been correctly configured beforehand.

  1. 1 Undo locknuts (2) on drag link (1)

IMPORTANT On some models the drag link (1) does not have any locknuts (2) fitted to it, but rather hose clamps (4) as on the tie rod (3). In this case remove the hose clamps on the drag link (1).

  2. 2.1 Extend drag link (1) by twisting it.

IMPORTANT Only if distance (A) is too large on right wheel and too small on left wheel.

  3. 2.2 Shorten drag link (1) by twisting it.

IMPORTANT Only if distance (A) is too small on right wheel and too large on left wheel.

  4. 3 Check hydraulic limiter again.
