1	Activate Service mode in Tele-Aid emergency call system	Only with code (ET2) TELE AID car telephone call system	AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

2	Move adjustable steering column upward and completely move out
	Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and goggles. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

4	Remove cover (2)	Unclip at four points.
		Mounting wedge	Fig 2
5	Set knob of headlamp range controller to "0" and remove	Do not turn headlamp range controller from position "0" after installing, otherwise the malfunction can occur on the headlamp range adjustment, which can only be replaced completely. Only model 463.243/244/245/247/248/250/254/270/303/306/309/322/323/332/333
6	Remove bolts (5)
7	Pull dashboard lower section upward at an angle until guide pins (4) are exposed	Do not damage lines on headlamp range control, otherwise complete headlamp range control must be replaced.
8	Remove headlamp range control from dashboard bottom section	Carefully lay headlamp range control down to side with connected lines. Only model 463.243/244/245/247/248/250/254/270/303/306/309/322/323/332/333
9	Remove EIS control unit (N73)	Lay EIS control unit (N73) with connected leads down to side.

10	Remove dashboard bottom section in direction of arrow
11	Install in the reverse order
12	Deactivate service mode in TELE AID emergency call system	Only with code (ET2) TELE AID car telephone call system	AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

13	Read out fault memory and erase	Stored faults which may be caused by assembly work, test work, removed lines or a simulation, must be processed and erased in fault memories after completing the work.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
14	Check ignition interlock for proper function	It must only be possible to shift the selector lever out of position "P" in key position "2" and when the brake pedal is depressed. The transmitter key should only be removed when the selector lever is in position "P".
