The following are integrated in the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3):

• Graphics-capable 6.5" color display
• Multistandard drive for DVD video, audio CD and MP3 CD-ROM
• Mini Disc (MD) drive
• Control unit for audio/navigation and telematics functions
• Navigation processor
• Central computer
• TV tuner
• FM multiplexer
• AUX jack (in glove compartment)

The COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) has a digital interface to the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST).
