The taximeter control module (A67n1) takes on the following tasks:
- Switch roof sign light on and off (in combination with the instrument cluster (A1))
- Data exchange with the special vehicle multifunction control module (MSS) (N26/9) via the RS485 bus
- Store trip information in the trip memory (memory capacity: approx. 800 trips and up to 31 shifts)
- Detect distance traveled via integrated odometer
- Receive DCF time signal via time signal receiver on taximeter
- Read out trip information via serial data interface (HALE CEY system, Special Equipment)
- A printer can be connected via the RS485 bus
System test mode (see also taxi owner's manual)
The following tests can be carried out in the system test mode of the taximeter:
- DCF time signal test (display: "dCF")
- Speed test (display: "SPd")
- Check trip distance with distance pulse display
- Display brightness test
- Temperature test
- Display test
- Seat contact test
- Check calibration checksums
- Check system time with date and year
Diagnosis using Star Diagnosis is also possible.
Automatic taximeter deactivation
The following options can be programmed using Star Diagnosis: Automatic deactivation of taximeter when ignition key is turned to position "0"
- YES/NO
- YES, time delay up to 255 minutes
The vehicle speed signal is sent from the instrument cluster (A1) via the special vehicle multifunction control module (MSS) (N26/9).
