Prepare window for installation - AR67.10-P-1000-03P

NOTES The gluing area on the window must be absolutely free of dust and grease to prevent paint adhesion problem of the adhesive material when glazing.

IMPORTANT Replacement parts for windshields are generally delivered with a viewing window (1) at the bottom left. If the viewing window (1) is not required, always coat this area at the inside of the window with primer from repair kit before installing window.

IMPORTANT Do not paint over adjustment markings for windshield wiper (2) and vision slits (3) in lower area of screen pattern on windshield.

On vehicles with present ground connections (6, 7) or optional ground connections (4, 5) to body on rear window, do not paint over cutouts (arrows).

  1. Check window for scratches and damage, replace if necessary.
  2. Fasten electrical connectors from inside or outside of window with adhesive tape, depending on version.

    IMPORTANT Perform following steps 3 and  4 only when using previously installed window.

  3. Cut off residual adhesive on window with scraper down to a height of approx. 2 mm. Remove adhesive material residues.
  4. Repair damaged primer layer on window with primer included in repair kit.

    IMPORTANT Perform following steps 5,  6 and  7 only when using new window.

  5. Clean window.
  6. Apply cleaner (activator) from repair kit to gluing area on window and rub dry with rag.
  7. Coat gluing area on window with primer included in repair kit (with max. 20 mm).

    IMPORTANT Allow primer to air-dry for a minimum of 10 minutes.
