The bonding area on the body flange must be absolutely free of dust and grease. Apply primer filler only on body flange in entire bonding area when repairing damage to prevent adhesion problems when installing window. The primer stick can be used if damage is <10 %, if damage is >10 % coat body flange with 2-component primer filler.
Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of the primer filler.
- Cut off residual adhesive material on body flange with suitable scraper blade.
- Remove adhesive material residues.
- Replace textile tape (1).
- Clean adhesive surface on body flange with cleaner and allow to flash off.
- Apply primer in areas with missing or damaged remaining adhesive to body flange.
- Repair paint damage in bonding area and on body flange with primer stick or 2-component primer filler.
- Glue rubber window spacer (2) at top to roof extension according to dimension (a) and glue on lower rubber window spacer (2) according to sheet metal elevation (arrow).
The material thickness of the upper rubber window spacers (2) is approx. 2 mm, the lower rubber window spacers (2) approx. 5 mm.
- Clean working area with wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
