Left front door control unit, purpose - GF72.29-P-4105-03TT

The left front door control unit (N69/1) has the following purpose:

Reading the following sensors: 

• Mirror adjustment up/down potentiometer (M21/1r2) (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))
• Mirror adjustment in/out potentiometer (M21/1r3) (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))
• Hall signals from left front power window motor (M10/3)
• Left front IR receiver (A26/1)

Scanning the following switches: 

• Driver power window switch group (S20/1)
• Child protection switch for rear side windows (S20/1s5)
• Outside mirror adjustment switch with/without mirror fold-in/out feature (S50/1)
• Left front seat adjustment switch group (S91/2) (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))
• Driver-side trunk lid open/close switch (S15/3) (model 211.0/6 without code (881) remote trunk closing (RTC))

  or

• Driver-side trunk lid open/close switch (S15/3) (model 211.0/6 with code (881) remote trunk closing (RTC))

  or

• Rear-end door remote opening switch (S15) (model 211.2 with code (890) Automatic rear-end door)

Switching loads via semiconductor switches: 

• Left front power window motor (M10/3)
• Left front door CL [ZV] motor (M14/6)
• Automatic dimming mirror (M21/1h1)
• Mirror up/down adjustment motor (M21/1m1)
• Mirror in/out adjustment motor (M21/1m2)
• Mirror fold-in motor (M21/1m3) (with code (500) Folding left/right outside mirrors)
• Mirror heater (M21/1r1)
• Front left door warning lamp (E17/19)
• Left outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/5)
• left front door entrance and exit lamp (E17/3)
• Left front door inside handle illumination (E17/11)
• Illumination for all switches connected to the control unit

The left front door control unit (N69/1) is connected with the Controller Area Network bus, class B (interior compartment) (CAN B) to exchange data.

The left front door control unit (N69/1) is coded via the EIS control unit (N73) as driver or passenger control unit. This description applies by analogy for vehicles with right-hand steering

Task in combination with air conditioning 

The left front door control unit (N69/1) senses the window position of the driver door and stores this information on the CAN interior compartment.

The AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (except code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) reads in the signal for the driver door window position to achieve better control quality in the open position.

Task, air recirculation comfort closing (except vehicles as of model year 09/AJ08 with code (494) USA version or code (460) Canada version) 

The comfort closing function is activated for longer than 1.5 s by pressing the air recirculation switch (N22s2) (except code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or air recirculation switch (N22/7s2) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning).

The left front door control unit (N69/1) stores the momentary window position and closes the window - if open - in the automatic function.

After terminating the comfort closing function by again pressing the air recirculation switch (N22s2) (except code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or air recirculation switch (N22/7s2) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) for longer than 1.5 s, the window is moved back again to the stored position.
