Remove/install inside rearview mirror - AR68.40-P-0001T

MODIFICATION NOTES

17.10.05 Disconnect ground line of battery, removed Step 2
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  Skin, eye and respiratory system irritation may occur through contact or inhalation of substances contained in the mirror lens Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS60.00-Z-0008-01R
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1.1 Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit On vehicles without code (889) Keyless Go  
1.2 Switch off ignition and place transmitter key out of transmission range of vehicle On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go  
2 Pry off rain/light sensor covering (1) with mounting wedge toward bottom and remove SPECIAL TOOL Figure
3 Unclip mirror base cover (2) from overhead control panel control unit (N70)    
4 Release inside rearview mirror unit (A67) by pivoting to the side at the mirror base and at the same time pulling downward out of the mirror mount. IMPORTANT Let inside rearview mirror unit (A67) hang from wiring harness.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Press spring shackle bolt (8) together with pliers (arrow) and allow retainer to latch. Ensure that electrical lines are routed correctly.
 
5 Disconnect electrical connector (3) from rain/light sensor    
6 Release overhead control panel control unit (N70) at front by pressing pushbuttons (4)    
7 Release overhead control panel control unit (N70) at rear by pushing on it from the side with the mounting wedge SPECIAL TOOL Figure
8 Disconnect electrical connectors (5) on ribbon cable from overhead control panel control unit (N70) NOTES Carefully disconnect electrical connectors (5) to prevent damaging ribbon cables.
IMPORTANT Number of electrical connectors (5) according to equipment.
 
9 Allow overhead control panel control unit (N70) top hang from wiring harness    
10 Disconnect electrical connector (7) Only on vehicles with code (810) Sound system.  
11 Disconnect electrical connectors (6) of inside rearview mirror (A67) from overhead control panel control unit (N70) and remove inside rearview mirror unit (A67) IMPORTANT Number of electrical connectors (6) according to equipment.  
12 Install in the reverse order    
13 Program garage door opener transmitter unit Only when replacing inside rearview mirror (A67) on vehicles with code (231) Garage door opener or code (232) Garage door opener with frequency 284-390 MHz.
