Networking of components 

The following lamps are present for better illumination of the surrounding area when entering or exiting the vehicle:

Function requirements:

Function 

By opening a vehicle door and when the CAN message "Night" is relayed to the overhead control panel control unit (N70) via the rain/light sensor (B38/2), or with remote door unlocking via the transmitter key (A8/1), the particular lamps are actuated via the:

The status of the various door contact switches are read in by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). These are passed on as a CAN message via the interior CAN.

Switching the entrance/exit lamps on and off 

If the corresponding vehicle door is closed.

If the vehicle door remains open for more than 5 minutes, the entrance/exit lamps are automatically switched off via the overhead control panel control unit (N70).

Switching on again after automatic switch-off 

The duty cycle extends or renews itself, if a status change occurs at the door contact switches, "circuit 15 ON" is switched on via the electronic ignition switch control unit (N73), or the vehicle is locked or unlocked and as a result of the interior CAN being deactivated or activated.

IMPORTANT The CAN message "night" is set in the event of a defect in the rain/light sensor (B38/2).

IMPORTANT The entrance/exit lamps are independent of the adjustment of the automatic driving light actuation in the instrument cluster (A1).

IMPORTANT In Model 211.6, depending on equipment and special body, the number and position of the interior lamps may vary.
