CD-player mode, function - GF82.60-P-2002TA

MODEL 211.0 /2 up to 31.5.06 with CODE (527) Navigation module for COMAND

CD player mode is initiated at the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) in the "Audio" menu. The user can select the desired audio source using the function keys.

CDs can be played in the multistandard CD drive or in the CD changer (A2/6). The CD changer is located in the recess in the center console below the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). After an audio CD, for example, has been inserted into the slot of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A40/3) or after the CD changer (A2/6) has been selected, the following functions are available to the user:

The following are possible in the "Adjustments" menu:

IMPORTANT Only 12 cm CDs may be inserted into the CD changer (A2/6); it is not possible to use an 8 cm CD adapter. Up to 6 CDs can be loaded.

IMPORTANT The multistandard drive integrated into the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is suitable for reading audio and MP3-CDs as well as CD-ROMs.

The control signals of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) as well as the audio data of the CD changer (A2/6) are transmitted via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The audio gateway control unit (N93/1) takes over signal processing and amplification.

CD title allocation, function

Every CD has a permanently stored Table of Contents (TOC) entry. As a result, the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) recognizes the particular CD, and is able to automatically name it after the one-time user allocation of the title (even if the CD is subsequently inserted in another CD magazine). In addition the TOC entry contains information on the number of tracks on a CD and the total playing time.

IMPORTANT If the vehicle is equipped with the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and with Code (810) Sound System, the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) must be coded accordingly using STAR DIAGNOSIS as otherwise faults can occur with the playback of audio signals.
