Design 

The audio gateway control unit (N93/1) consists of the following individual components integrated in a housing:

• Radio receiver (AM/FM)
• Audio amplifier output stages
• Controller Area Network Bus class B (interior) (CAN-B) interface
• Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) interface
• Dynamic range optimization (DRO) microphone input
• RDS decoder
• Central diagnostic interface via CAN-B
• Additional audio amplifier output stages for surround, on vehicles with code (810) Sound system

In the USA, the sound system will be a standard feature as of model year 07 with code (807) Model year 2007.
