REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Transfer basic data of radio (A2) or radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) to STAR DIAGNOSIS When replacing radio (A2) or radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56).
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Transfer basic data from STAR DIAGNOSIS to radio (A2) or radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56).
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2.1 Remove center stowage compartment and place to one side with electrical lines still connected Vehicles up to 1.6.08

2.2 Remove holder with CD changer and place to one side with electrical lines still connected Vehicles up to 1.6.08

3 Unscrew bolts (1) counterclockwise as far as to the stop    
4 Pull radio (A2) or radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) out of center console until the fiber optic cable connector and the electrical connectors at the rear of the radio (A2) or the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) are accessible IMPORTANT Depending on vehicle configuration.  
5 Disconnect fiber optic cable connector and the electrical connectors on the rear of the radio (A2) or the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) NOTES To avoid damaging the fiber optic cable, do not kink fiber optic cable, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm.  
6 Cover fiber optic cable   AR82.95-P-0005-01A 
7 Install in the reverse order
